Structural Restoration

Over the years, Ross Bryan Associates, Inc., has been involved in a variety of restoration projects. Either Structural or historical in nature, our broad experience as consulting engineers and our attention to details have helped our clients with solutions to critical elements inherent in all phases of projects of this nature.

The Parthenon
Nashville, Tennessee

Originally built for Tennessee’s 1897 Centennial Exposition, this replica of the original Parthenon in Athens serves as a monument to what is considered the pinnacle of classical architecture.

Ross Bryan Associates, Inc., served as the Engineering Consultant for the restoration of the Parthenon.
The restoration process was as follows:

Phase I Restoration (1995 – 1998)
Replace precast concrete in roof tiles, raking cornice, cymas, antefix, and eaves
Replace cast-in-place concrete in Gryphon Plinths and Corona – architectural concrete

Phase II Restoration (1997 – 2000)
Replace/repair precast statuary
Replace cast-in-place concrete
Replace precast elements

Phase III Restoration (2000 – 2001)
Repair cast-in-place architectural concrete on corona, taenia, architrave, triglyph, column capitals, and soffit
