Ross Bryan Structural Engineering Projects Win AIA East Tennessee Awards

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.  – Ross Bryan Associates provided structural design and engineering for three projects honored with four awards during the annual American Institute of Architects East Tennessee Design Awards Gala.

The Joint Institute for Advanced Materials Research and the University of Tennessee Knoxville Volunteer Boulevard Parking Garage received awards in the New Construction category.

The 140,000-square- foot Joint Institute for Advanced Materials Research opened in 2016 and is on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Cherokee Farm Campus. Located on the banks of the Tennessee River, the research facility is one of the world’s premier centers for advanced materials research. Ross Bryan Associates was part of the project team which included BarberMcMurry Architects, Bullock Smith & Partners and Blaine Construction Corporation.

The six-level University of Tennessee Knoxville Volunteer Boulevard Parking Garage has more than a thousand parking spaces and smart parking technology. The project team included Bullock Smith & Partners, Lindsay & Maples Architects and Blaine Construction.

In the Renovations/Restorations category, the University of Tennessee Knoxville Facility Services Complex received a merit award. The 91,000-square- foot building also won the People’s Choice Award. Ross Bryan Associates provided structural design and engineering as part of the project team which included Cope Associates Inc. Architecture, CH2M Hill and Johnson & Galyon Construction.
